White Wine Cupcakes

If you know me then you know that I love chocolate.

What girl doesn’t?

Because of my love for chocolate, I jumped at the chance to work with Ghirardelli Chocolates and Josh Cellars wine for their #asweetpairing campaign. It took me a while to decide what I wanted to make but ultimately decided on a Valentine’s bark using Ghirardelli chocolate. While shopping for the ingredients my daughter picked up a funfetti cake mix. An idea was instantly born and while I made the bark too, the white wine cupcakes were the bigger hit.

White Wine Cupcakes (with Ghirardelli chocolate and Josh Cellars wine):

They look delicious, right? Here is how you can make them. I promise it’s easy and because of the high oven temperatures, they are also kid-safe.

White Wine Cupcakes

Ingredients:
1 Funfetti cake mix
1 Tub Funfetti icing
Sprinkles
Josh Cellars wine
Ghirardelli Chocolate squares

Directions:
Make Funfetti mix as directed, replacing 1/2 cup of the water with 1/2 cup of Josh Cellars wine.
Cool, Ice, and Sprinkle with pearls, then top with Ghirardelli chocolate square.
Serve with chilled Josh Cellars wine.

This is truly #asweetpairing. The best thing is that you can purchase all of the ingredients at your local Wal-Mart making this an easy to prepare treat.

Preschool and Kindergarten Matching Numbers, Valentine’s Day Activity Craft

It has been a while since I’ve shared any of our homeschool crafts. This idea actually came from an image I saw on instagram. Due to a cancellation of an activity I already had a lot of paper hearts and knew when I saw the instagram image that my hearts were going to be used for this.

Happy Valentine’s Day (Party!)

Our Homeschool 4H Club meets once a month – at the beginning of the month – so we got to celebrate Valentine’s Day a little early. The kids made Valentines and took their Valentine’s boxes to the party.

After the official meeting business was taken care of, the children all made crafts:

.. and passed out their valentines..

I heart 4H. This is the first year we are actually getting more involved. We’ve been attending meetings and stuff, but haven’t really done much else. The kids really like it, and I think as we get more involved and participate in more of the activities and contests that the kids will enjoy it more. I especially like how it is something that they can carry with them through their entire schooling and they are learning actual life skills. So, to continue our “get active” streak with 4H I signed Kaia up for a talking demonstration in a few weeks. I picked one that I thought would be super simple for him (community service) and he will be working on his presentation this week. Once he is all done I will share it.

Anyway to make a long blog short – the kids had a blast at the party and enjoyed passing out (and receiving) valentine cards.

Are you involved in your local 4H chapter? Is it just a big thing in the South?

Twelve Days of Valentine’s Day

If Valentine’s Day was like Christmas and I could give my love valentines every day for those 12 days, I would give him these:
